Warning

If you are a Notorious Sock Knitter who has not yet received her kit (and doesn't want it to be spoiled) or have a violent aversion to sock related blog content, go no further!

If, however, you need a dose of colour in your day, could not possibly get enough of socks, are a former Notorious Sock Knitter needing a bit of the fun or, you know, just feel like reading something silly instead of whatever you were supposed to be doing right now, read on!

2010: Week 6

Posted by Peanut in Life365

A whole new month this week. How exciting!

I can't believe we're already into February. It usually feels like an unnaturally long month given its twenty-eight days but this year it is going pretty quickly; we're having a spell of unusually warm weather this weekend and into next week and then Rob and I are taking off at the end of the month for a bit of vacation. But first, last week:

We ran out of our French Granola and I had to make more (there really wasn't an option - I don't think I'll ever be able to go without this stuff again). Rob got me a wonderful large, high sided baking sheet especially for making granola in. It made stirring it around so much easier.

Rice Pudding

This is what I'm eating right now - well, I suppose technically this picture is from last week, but I am eating rice pudding from the same recipe in the same bowl with whipped cream and sugar cinnamon on top so I consider it close enough to not bother taking a new picture - it's so creamy and good. I like it best still warm but it's good cold too (and pretty awesome for breakfast).

2010: Week 5

Posted by Peanut in Life365

I'm a little late posting this time. Sunday night was spent tying a quilt and Monday figuring out the math for a new bag. I'll show the the first as soon as it's done and the second if it works.

In the North in the winter sunshine means cold weather and, if you're lucky, a sun dog. This is the most incredible sun dog I have ever seen. It was even more fantastic in person. The office building in the background is only a block away; I've never see one of the bright spots appear so close.

My dad came by while I was taking this and told me I looked like a tourist :)
