I finished my sweater (just) in time for Sunday's cake and tea but didn't get any pictures. It feels lovely to wear and fits very nicely. I'll get some pictures this week to post here and on Ravelry.
This is a sneak peak at today's project. I'll share the finished object after it has been delivered to it's recipient.
My sweater is progressing. I've got both sleeves finished now. I pressed everything gently and sewed the sleeves into the front and back. The collar has been picked up and is now almost halfway finished. Still a bunch of seaming after that though and I've got to make cake and vacuum tomorrow morning so I'm not certain if I'll get it finished on time or not. Cross your fingers for me.
Obviously this isn't my sweater (which is progressing - I now have the whole back and half a sleeve) but I really wanted to start in on it. I'm copying out the pattern (I can't bear to cut them and then not have the some other size when I need it) for this t-shirt. The dark fabric hiding at the top right of the photo is what I will be making it out of. I've been adoring this fabric (the whole line really) since I saw it last year but it's a little on the expensive side so I needed a nice, relatively small, relatively foolproof project to make with it (and of course I'll save all the scraps). It's not quite as dark in real life as it is in the photo. The print has a lovely slightly whimsical, watercolour look to it.
Today seemed like a good day to start this project (which will probably have to wait until after the weekend to be finished) because first, I'm at home today and have lots of time for it, and second, it has warmed up so much outside that there are rivers of water pouring down the outside of the building. I can hardly believe spring has finally arrived but it certainly has and it's not wasting time. Yesterday's piles of snow are today's slushy puddles. We are even supposed to get a bit of rain!
