2010
|
That's how many days in 2009 I managed to take at least one picture and post it to my flickr account. I am actually a little surprised that in a whole year I only missed 19 days.
The pictures I posted provide me with an interesting record of my year. Some represent things that were going on in our lives - vacations, work on the house, get-togethers with friends - others are of projects I worked on - quilts and knitting mostly - some are just there because I really liked them and a few are there because that's what I found to take a picture of at 11:45 at night - Oops!
I found this year a little slower than the ones before and I think all the picture taking was part of that. Instead of looking back and jumping from milestone to milestone through the year I see a snippet of almost every single day.
I see Abby grow up and Zeke get a little more salt in his coat. I see our garden getting planted and growing and being harvested and freezing over. I see gatherings with friends and quiet days by ourselves. I see a lot of snow but also a remarkably large portion of green. I see the days lengthen and then shorten again. I see lots of sewing and knitting including a few projects that I need to get back to before they get too dusty.
I've been trying to decide if I would do this project again for 2010. It is definitely a challenge - taking a picture every single day - but it has a pretty fabulous reward at the end. I think I'll keep going with it - it's almost habit now anyway - and see what the snippets of 2010 look like at the beginning of next January.
I'd like to wish all of you the very best for the coming year in whatever endeavours and challenges it brings you.
