I plugged my camera in to my computer this evening specifically to transfer the pictures I took of the quilt top I was working on over the weekend. Owing to a sore back the past few weeks it had taken me a lot longer than I'd expected to put it together and I was feeling rather proud of myself. Especially after I caught and fixed three different spots where I'd put matching fabrics next to each other. I showed the quilt off to Rob and I hung it on the ironing table and got Abby to stay (mostly) still in front of it while I took pictures.
When I looked at the pictures off my camera this evening I thought it looked … odd. I looked more carefully and got out my sketch. Yes indeed. I'd made a mistake. And not just a little one. And not just once!
Have you spotted it? Here's a picture to help.
There are eight red squares that should be white. Four on each side. I must have made the mistake when I put together the top left quadrant and then used that quadrant instead of my sketch to lay out the squares for the top right. What really bugs me is that I know I was checking the sketch as I went along to make sure I was keeping the squares where they should be and I never, ever, not once, picked up on this.
Oh well, I know what I'll be working on this weekend.
