Can anyone tell me what these plants are?

I’m making up a photo book from one of the albums I took down from my Photos page a little while ago. It’s almost ready but I’d like to have the names of these two plants to go with their pictures.

 

I’m halfway through spinning up my alpaca fibre. I’ve got one ounce spun and plied and set and skeined. It looks so lovely and feels even better.

This is my possum yarn being swatched up for a pair of mittens. It’s so soft when it’s running through your fingers and has just a tiny bit of a halo to it once it’s knit up. It’s going to be lovely mittens.
