Are You Sure It's May?

I've been working on my new cowl and thinking how nice it will be for next winter but now I think I need to finished it up to wear this spring. We've had a cold, blustery day followed by a cold, blustery, snowy evening. It started just as I was leaving my office. By the time we got home after Rob finished work it was covering the porch and when we went out for dinner an hour later we couldn't see our footprints. Our squirrel looked very chilly at the feeder with all his fur fluffed up against the wind.

The Quilt on Our Bed

This was my January project. I ordered the fabrics back in October or November when I was getting other things for birthdays and Christmas. January and February are always rather bleak months here. The light is starting to come back but we're just reaching the coldest part of the year and the idea of spring is far away. Even March can be pretty bitter. This year I wanted something bright and cheerful to work on to get me through the frigid weather and what better project than a quilt that will keep us warm through said frigid weather for years to come.

Making Tracks

Posted by Peanut in WinterWildlifeSpring

With our spell of warm weather all sorts of critters have been out and about. These tracks were all seen on or near the path to work last week. Some I can recognize, others not. If you know who left a set of mystery tracks please leave a note in the comments so we'll know for next time.

These tracks remind me of rabbits but I think they may be from a squirrel based on some tracks near our house that lead to a known squirrel hideout. I'll have to keep a close watch on our back yard to learn for sure.

Birthday Crafting

I think I might spend every birthday in my sewing room after this. It was so relaxing to be sitting working on something just for me. I finished off three little projects for a new spring outfit and wore them out on Friday when we went out for lunch and shopping. Photo credits go to Rob.
