A New SkillPosted by Peanut in Motherhood , Maisie , Knitting |
I spent yesterday perfecting a new skill. Provided she's deeply asleep, I can now knit with Maisie in just about any position that doesn't require both of my arms to hold her up. The result is that last night I joined the sleeves to the body of her new sweater. I'm now firmly in yolk territory and everything decreases from here.
Of course sometimes she isn't sleeping quite as deeply as would be handy ...

I don't know about you but when I do a long tail cast-on I never end up with a perfect little tail like this when I'm finished. It is either five stitches too short - and I'm never willing to admit it until I've cast on the 83 or so stitches before those five - or it is so long I'm worried I'll have to join it back in at the end to finish my project.
I'm finished both sleeves of Maisie's new sweater and have started in on the body. If I can get a few more good knitting sessions (read: naps) I'll be ready to join everything together for the yolk in no time.
