It might have been the coffee (I usually drink decaf).
I finished the sleeve and tried it on. I decided it was too tight and recopied the sleeve pattern piece with and extra 3/4" down the middle (the same thing I did for this top). I took that and made a couple of variations. I pin basted and tried on my new sleeve options. I decided I liked the original sleeve better anyway. I finished the inside of the sleeve tie and the second sleeve.

I sewed the collar to the interfacing. I decided not to cut out the interfacing first and just pinned the collar to the square and sewed around the edge. It worked really well. I cut it out when I was finished.

I set the sleeves into the body and sewed on the collar. I used my pinking shears anywhere the seam allowance was going to show. It's such a handy way to finish seams as long as the fabric doesn't fray badly. It was really starting to look like a dress now. I tried it on to see where the pockets should go. I marked the spots and sewed on the pockets.
I set in the zipper. I love invisible zippers. They go so quickly once you know what to do. I actually find them easier to put in than regular zippers. I sewed up the bottom of the back seam. I pressed up the hem and finished it with the machine. I snipped the last thread.

Then I put on my dress and got out the tripod:
Here's the front ...

... and here's the back ...

... and here's me making a funny face because it was the only picture that was not blurry where you could see how the collar looked from the front.

I wore this around the house for most of the rest of the day. It's quite comfortable and feels nice and sunny. I'm looking forward to the warm weather when I'll be able to wear it outside. Just a few more months ...
