Is it 2011 already? Somehow the last few days of 2010 disappeared much faster than I was expecting. It's a good feeling to be looking ahead at the new year today. I wonder what it will bring, what we will see and where we might go. We don't have any big plans so far, so it really is a mystery right now.

Abby and I went for our last walk of 2010 yesterday afternoon and I thought I'd share a few pictures. I'm so in love with the sun at this time of year. It feels good to know we'll be seeing more of it every day.

ps. It turned out to be pretty cold, so it was a short walk.

"Oh no! There's a raven on the railing. I can hear Abby barking but it won't leave."

"I'd better go chase it away."

"Stay away Mr. Raven. Stay Away."

"Thanks for helping out with the barks Abby. Now for some more peanuts."

The squirrel was at the feeder first. Abby's been watching him for a while. The raven arrived second and clearly wanted some peanuts. This is the second time I've seen a squirrel pester a raven away from our backyard. It mostly involves the squirrel running at the raven's feet and then jumping away before the raven can retaliate. There was considerable squirrel yelling once it was gone. Abby watched the whole thing very excitedly and added her own noise to the squirrel's.
