I went to a World Wide Knit in Public Day event on Saturday and thought it would be a good idea to take my camera with me. This meant finally putting the neck strap on my camera and that was a problem because I really wanted something a little more fun than the black and yellow one Nikon had kindly provided. Then I remembered that Karyn had posted about covering her camera strap with fabric.
I looked up her post, followed her instructions and in less than an hour I had a super cute camera strap. I made two small modifications: I used WonderUnder, instead of Steam-a-Seam, because that's what I had; and I turned under the overlapping edge instead of using the selvedge. The fabric I used is Liberty of London's Tana Lawn in Mauvy (leftover from my September dress). It's the only Liberty print I had that covered the bright yellow NIKONs; the others were all too light. They still peak through a bit. If I ever do this again I'll change the outside of the strap to the inside so the NIKONS will be covered by the overlapping fabric.
