This was birthday yarn and I spent quite a long time searching around for the perfect thing to knit with it. I settled on the Cashmere Cowl pattern because it was simple and something I could wear against my neck. I cast on 110 stitches and knit until my cowl measured 22 cm/ 8 1/2 inches tall (technically speaking - until I was sick of 1x1 rib) and cast off. Next time I might try to stick with it a little longer and knit the whole 13 inches that the pattern recommends in order to get some more of these lovely floppy folds.
I didn't work very quickly so the weather was pretty well into summer by the time I was finished and I've only had a couple of opportunities to wear it. I'm looking forward to the fall because this so so soft and light I almost forget that I'm wearing it. It provides just enough warmth to keep away the chill on a cool day and never gets too hot. The greens go so well with lots of my cool weather clothes too. I love projects like this.
