Yay! Done!
A bit late for the knit-along deadline but that's okay. These socks came out really well once I'd fixed my mistake and I'm looking forward to wearing them when the weather cools off again. I started them in the Vancouver airport on our way back from vacation in April and carried them around in my purse to work on in odd moments. The stitch pattern actually goes pretty quickly if you sit down and work on it.
Once again I substituted a short-row heel for the heel-flap-and-gusset construction the pattern called for. And once again this lead to me missing an important bit of information about how the foot was supposed to go. Lesson learned: always read through everything … especially if you're planning on making some changes.
