My garden went in last weekend with the help of my lovely assistant (who eventually calmed down and fell asleep). I put all the seeds in on Saturday: peas, beans, turnip, beets, spring onions, spinach, greens and radishes. I have more pea seeds than I need so I made up a pot with some of the extras to go to a small neighbour who will enjoy watching them grow. A friend gave me a yellow zucchini seedling and that went in too. Just as I finished planting I got an email from another friend that she had some leftover cherry tomato plants that I was welcome to so Maisie and I took a little trip over to her house to collect the plants and then went out to the nursery for some basil, marigolds and strawberries. The marigolds are scattered throughout the garden for their insect repelling properties and to add a touch of colour until other things start coming up. The strawberries are in the big half barrels by our front door. I've had strawberries on the front porch before and loved smelling them every time I went in or out of the house. It also makes for very easy harvesting.
